How To

Understanding Your Healthy Weight Range

This Is a Range, Not a Target

A healthy weight range spans roughly 20–25 kg for most heights. The goal is to be anywhere within this range, not at a specific number. Body composition (muscle vs. fat), age, and health markers matter more than hitting an exact weight.

The Middle Is Not Optimal

Research suggests that the lowest mortality risk is associated with BMI 21–22 for most adults (slightly below the midpoint of the healthy range). However, this average applies across populations — individual optimal weight varies significantly.

Use Multiple Measures

Combine your healthy weight range with body fat percentage, waist circumference, and health markers like blood pressure and blood glucose. A weight in the healthy range with poor metabolic markers is still a health concern.
